An inverter is a component that can convert AC power into DC power to operate an alternative energy system.

The AC inverter generates electricity for your television, pumps, laptops, etc...

Solar panels generate DC current.

Off-grid inverters are common products for solar panels or wind turbine powered systems.

Just keep in mind that wind turbine systems require batteries while solar panel systems can operate with or without batteries.

Here are the different types of inverters that you will find in our store:

Grid-tie inverters: This type of inverter connects directly into the electrical panel of your home or office.

Off-grid inverters: This type works independently from your electrical panel and can be used for cottages or any house away from electrical options.

Mobile inverters: The perfect type of inverter for outdoor activities like boating, RV riding and camping.

Selecting the appropriate inverter is relatively simple.

It has to be strong enough to deal with the total amount of watts that you will use.

Simply make a list of all household appliances that you operate regularly and their respective electrical consumption. Once this is done, use the electrical consumption calculator proposed on the bottom of this page.

Please note that it is important to choose an inverter with the same rated voltage as your battery bank (12, 24 or 48 VDC).
